Ravindra Jadeja adds another accolade to his collection. The Indian all-rounder received his ICC Test Team of the Year cap for last year’s performance. Currently in the USA training with the Indian Cricket Team for the upcoming T20 World Cup, Jadeja was presented with the cap by head coach Rahul Dravid.
The CSK all-rounder took to Instagram to capture and share the moment, in a post captioned, “Special cap from special person #proudofmyself”
Ravindra Jadeja and Ravichandran Ashwin were the only two Indians included in this prestigious list.
Ravichandran Ashwin was dominant on home soil against Australia, taking 25 wickets in the four-match series. Although he wasn’t initially a starter in the WTC finals against Australia, he demonstrated his value with a 10-wicket haul against the West Indies upon his return, followed by a fifty later in the series.
Jadeja consistently excelled with both bat and ball in the red-ball format, helping India reach the World Test Championship finals in 2023. He played a key role in India’s home series victory over Australia and their triumph in the Caribbean.
India will rely on the versatile all-rounder to spearhead their quest for glory at the 2024 ICC Men’s T20 World Cup, scheduled to be held in the USA and the Caribbean.
After a challenging season with the Chennai Super Kings in the IPL 2024, Jadeja enters the prestigious tournament with renewed determination and his trademark positive form.
India found themselves placed in Group A, alongside traditional rivals Pakistan, as well as Ireland, Canada, and the USA. The Indian team, known as the Men in Blue, will kick off their journey in the Americas with a warm-up match against Bangladesh on June 1, gearing up for the T20 World Cup.
