Sri Lanka Cricket has unveiled its 16-member squad for the upcoming ODI series against India, appointing Charith Asalanka as the captain of the team. Asalanka, known for his left-handed batting prowess, will lead the squad as they prepare to face India in a three-match series.
Also joining the squad is Kusal Mendis, who previously took on the leadership role during the ODI World Cup in the absence of Dasun Shanaka due to injury. Another notable inclusion is 24-year-old Nishan Madushka, recognized as a promising young batsman for Sri Lanka.
The ODI series is scheduled to take place in Colombo immediately following the conclusion of the T20I series. The matches are set to be held at the R Premadasa Stadium on August 2, 4, and 7.
