The first group of the Indian team has arrived in the USA for the T20 World Cup. Led by captain Rohit Sharma, key players such as Suryakumar Yadav, Jasprit Bumrah, and Rishabh Pant were among the initial arrivals. Fans greeted the team in New York on Sunday, May 26. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) posted a video of the team’s arrival in New York.
Virat Kohli and Hardik Pandya were notably missing from the squad, having concluded their Indian Premier League stint. Kohli’s absence was attributed to paperwork matters, preventing his immediate travel to the USA. He’s anticipated to link up with the team later this month. Meanwhile, reports suggest that Pandya is currently in England.
Previously, India’s captain Rohit Sharma posted the inaugural selfie taken in the USA. The snapshot featured Rohit alongside Ravindra Jadeja and Axar Patel.

India’s sole World Cup warm-up match will take place against Bangladesh at the newly built Nassau County International Cricket Stadium. This venue will also host three league matches for India, including a highly anticipated clash against Pakistan on June 9th.
Since India predominantly hosts their league matches at a consistent venue, they aim to utilize the warm-up match fully to acclimatize to the conditions. The newly built modular stadium, boasting a drop-in pitch, was finalized earlier this month following construction that commenced in January. India, seeking their first ICC title since 2013, will kick off their World Cup campaign against Ireland on June 5. This marks the inaugural co-hosting of an ICC event by the United States, with their national team making its maiden appearance in the global tournament.
