Nepal’s cricket team has been given a significant boost with an opportunity to train for two weeks at the prestigious National Cricket Academy (NCA) in Bengaluru. This will be a remarkable chance for the Himalayan nation to access some of the finest cricketing facilities available globally.
The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) Secretary Jay Shah played a pivotal role in facilitating this opportunity for Nepal. The Cricket Association of Nepal (CAN) expressed their gratitude for his invaluable support and contribution.
Nepal will train at the NCA in Bengaluru for two weeks.
The Cricket Association of Nepal (CAN) announced the news on social media, expressing their appreciation to Jay Shah and the BCCI for making this opportunity possible. The CAN also expressed their hope to further strengthen their cricketing relationship with the BCCI moving forward.

The team is preparing for the Cricket World Cup League 2.
This training program is a major advantage for the Himalayan nation as they gear up for the Cricket World Cup League 2, set to take place in Canada. Following the training camp, the team will travel to Canada to participate in a tri-series with Oman and the host nation.
At present, the Rhinos are positioned sixth in the Cricket World Cup League 2 standings, having secured 1 win and suffered 3 losses in their first four matches. To secure a spot in the Cricket World Cup qualifier, they need to finish among the top four teams in the League 2 table by December 2026.
Jay Shah unveiled plans for a new NCA in Bengaluru.
On August 10 (Saturday), BCCI Secretary Jay Shah revealed that a new National Cricket Academy (NCA) in Bengaluru is set to open soon. The state-of-the-art facility will feature world-class cricketing amenities, designed to nurture and develop India’s future cricketing talent.
“The new NCA will feature three world-class playing grounds, 45 practice pitches, indoor cricket pitches, Olympic-size swimming pool and state-of-the-art training, recovery and sports science facilities. This initiative will help our nation’s current and future cricketers develop their skills in the best possible environment!” Jay Shah posted on X (formerly Twitter).
India and Nepal have met on the field once before, with their ODI encounter taking place during the Asia Cup 2023. India emerged victorious in that match. Throughout their games, the Nepal cricket team has received significant support, with their fans showing unwavering enthusiasm.
