The fifth edition of the highly anticipated Lanka Premier League (LPL) is set to kick off on July 1, featuring a lineup of international and Sri Lankan cricket stars. Over three weeks of thrilling T20 action at three iconic venues, fans can expect to see renowned international players such as New Zealand’s Glenn Phillips and Mark Chapman, Bangladesh’s Mustafizur Rahman and Taskin Ahmed, Pakistan’s Shadab Khan and Agha Salman, West Indies’ Andre Fletcher and Fabian Allen, Afghanistan’s Mohammad Nabi, Mujeeb Ur Rehman, and Noor Ahmad, and South Africa’s Rilee Rossouw and Reeza Hendricks.
The Sri Lankan contingent in LPL 2024 is equally impressive, boasting stars like Wanindu Hasaranga, Angelo Mathews, Isuru Udana, Maheesh Theekshana, and Kusal Mendis, alongside other prominent national team players.
“The Lanka Premier League continues to highlight the exceptional talent of our cricket players, providing fans with yet another opportunity to see their favorite stars in action. The league phase of LPL 2024 will span from July 1 to 16, featuring five teams: Colombo Strikers, Dambulla Sixers, Galle Marvels, Jaffna Kings, and Kandy. Each team will compete against the others twice over this period at three renowned venues: R Premadasa International Cricket Stadium in Colombo, Rangiri Dambulla International Cricket Stadium in Dambulla, and Pallekele International Cricket Stadium in Kandy.

The playoffs of LPL 2024, set to take place at the R Premadasa International Cricket Stadium in Colombo, are slated to commence on July 18, culminating in the final match scheduled for July 21.
