India’s batting giants, Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli, had a delightful moment when they encountered a humorous reimagined poster of the iconic Bollywood film *Lagaan* during the ongoing ODI series in Sri Lanka.
Both players, who made their return to the 50-over format after a nearly 10-month hiatus, were preparing for the match when they came across the playful poster. As they stood near the advertisement hoardings before the game, Kohli spotted the poster and quickly drew Sharma’s attention to it. The poster featured a comical twist, replacing the face of Aamir Khan, the film’s lead actor, with Rohit Sharma’s.
The sight of the altered poster had Kohli in fits of laughter, and Sharma couldn’t help but join in on the fun. The light-hearted moment added a touch of humor to their match day preparations.

In the ongoing ODI series, India is poised to mount a comeback as they prepare for the third match against Sri Lanka. The hosts are currently ahead 1-0 in the three-match series following their win in the second ODI, while the first game ended in a tie with both teams scoring 240 runs.
In the second ODI, Sri Lanka posted a score of 240 for 9 and then dismissed India for 208 runs to secure the victory. Despite impressive individual performances from Rohit Sharma, who scored rapid fifties in both matches, other key Indian batters, including Virat Kohli, have struggled to contribute significantly. Sharma scored a 33-ball fifty in the first ODI and followed it up with a 29-ball fifty in the second.
As India heads into the final ODI, Sharma will aim to build on his excellent form and lead his team to a crucial win to avoid losing the series. Earlier in the tour, India had achieved a 3-0 whitewash in the T20I series under the captaincy of Suryakumar Yadav.
