Cricket icon Virat Kohli took to X (formerly Twitter) on Tuesday to unveil his ‘dream home’ in Alibaug, sharing insights into its design and his personal journey behind the project. The 35-year-old, pivotal in India’s T20 World Cup 2024 victory on June 29, described the home’s intricate details in a viral video, highlighting why he embarked on this endeavor.
“The journey of building my Alibaug home has been a seamless experience, and seeing it all come together is truly gratifying. Huge thanks to the entire Avas team for making our dream home a reality. Can’t wait to enjoy every moment here with my loved ones,” read the post shared by the star batter.
In the video, Virat said, “When I heard the plans, the project in itself is very unique. You have a sense of community, but at the same time, you have your own privacy and access to all the amenities you would need in a holiday home. The fact that you have a world-class spa right next door is obviously the USP for me. So, all of that coming together, for me, was a no-brainer.”
He added, “I love the living space the most and also the access to the outdoors from the living space. Aesthetically, the home is done beautifully, and it is exactly the way I like with regards to interiors and natural light coming in. It’s very subtle and classy. The space allows you to just unwind and not worry about anything else.”
In November 2022, news emerged that Kohli and his wife, actor Anushka Sharma, had acquired a villa in Alibaug. An Instagram post at the time featured images revealing a private pool, a dining table for ten, and a spacious living area.
Currently, Kohli is enjoying family time in London. His return from the West Indies on July 4 was followed by meetings with PM Narendra Modi in Delhi and participation in the victory parade in Mumbai. Later that day, he departed for London.
