Settling into the luxurious ITC Ratnadipa Hotel in the Sri Lankan capital, India’s ODI squad has wasted no time in gearing up for the upcoming series.
Both Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma are slated to kick off their practice sessions in Colombo, under the guidance of assistant coach Abhishek Nayar. The ODI team has already begun intensive training sessions in preparation for the challenges ahead.
Notably, both Kohli and Rohit are making their return to ODI cricket since the 2023 ODI World Cup held at home. With their sights set on the upcoming Champions Trophy 2025, they are keen to regain their form and rhythm.
Both Indian stalwarts boast impressive records against Sri Lanka in ODIs and will look to further embellish their statistics during the forthcoming three-match series. The series commences on August 2 at the R Premadasa International Cricket Stadium in Colombo, followed by the second ODI on August 4.
