Following their impressive performances in the T20I series against Zimbabwe, Team India’s players have seen notable advancements in the latest ICC Rankings, released today. Led by Shubman Gill, the Indian squad secured a convincing 4-1 victory after an initial setback in the opening match.
Yashasvi Jaiswal, who joined the series after missing the first two games, made a significant impact with scores of 36 and an unbeaten 93, helping India clinch the series. His impressive contributions have propelled him four places up the rankings to sixth overall in T20Is, making him the second-highest ranked Indian batsman behind Suryakumar Yadav, who holds the second spot. Currently, Australia’s Travis Head leads the ICC T20I batting rankings.
Shubman Gill’s leadership and stellar batting performances against Zimbabwe also earned him a substantial rise in the rankings. As the series’ highest run-scorer with 170 runs, including two fifties, Gill surged an impressive 36 places to 37th in the ICC T20I batting rankings.
ICC Rankings for bowlers in T20Is
In the latest ICC Rankings update following the T20I series between India and Zimbabwe, significant movements among bowlers have been observed. Zimbabwe’s Blessing Muzarabani has surged 11 places to claim the 44th position, courtesy of his impressive six-wicket haul against India. Meanwhile, India’s Washington Sundar has climbed an impressive 36 spots to reach 46th, while Mukesh Kumar’s rise of 21 places sees him settle at 73rd. Both Sundar and Mukesh were instrumental in the series, sharing the top spot among wicket-takers with 8 scalps each.
Notably, England’s Adil Rashid continues to lead the T20I bowling rankings, while India’s Axar Patel holds the 13th position as the highest-ranked Indian bowler in this format. In the allrounders’ category, Sri Lanka’s Wanindu Hasaranga holds the top spot, with India’s Hardik Pandya ranking 6th, the highest among Indian players.
