Former Indian fast bowler Zaheer Khan is poised to join the Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) as their new mentor for the Indian Premier League (IPL). According to Cricbuzz, the 2011 World Cup champion is currently in talks with the franchise ahead of the upcoming season.
The Lucknow Super Giants have been without a mentor since last season, following Gautam Gambhir’s departure to join Kolkata Knight Riders for IPL 2024. Additionally, Morne Morkel, the former bowling coach, will also be moving on as he is set to join the Indian team.
Reports suggest that Zaheer Khan will not only take on the role of mentor but will also provide valuable guidance to the bowlers. He is expected to play a significant role in communication between the players and the franchise management, rather than merely acting as an intermediary.
