Mohsin Naqvi, Chairman of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), has strongly cautioned fans regarding the recent incident involving Pakistani fast bowler Haris Rauf in the United States.
Naqvi stated that the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) is actively tracking the individual responsible for the altercation where Rauf was accompanied by his wife. He assured that stringent measures would be taken against any future misconduct directed at members of the Pakistan cricket team.

Following Pakistan’s disappointing exit from the ICC T20 World Cup 2024, PCB chairman Mohsin Naqvi addressed a recent incident involving Haris Rauf during the team’s visit to the USA. Rauf was with his wife when approached by a Pakistani fan who initially seemed to request a photograph. However, the encounter quickly escalated into a heated verbal altercation on the sidewalk.
Witnesses observed Rauf and the fan moving to opposite sides of the sidewalk and engaging in a tense argument, nearly resulting in a physical confrontation before bystanders intervened to defuse the situation.
Rauf later took to social media to explain his side, alleging that the fan had insulted his family, prompting his emotional response.
Rauf had said in a statement on X: “I decided not to bring this on social media, But now that the video is out, I feel it is necessary to address the situation. As public figures, we are open to receiving all kinds of feedback from the public. They are entitled to support or criticize us. Nevertheless, when it comes to my parent and my family, I will not hesitate to respond accordingly. It is important to show respect towards people and their families, irrespective of their professions.”
The PCB chairman has strongly criticized the recent incident involving Haris Rauf, labeling such behavior towards national players as entirely unacceptable and intolerable. Mohsin Naqvi emphasized that those involved in the incident must issue an immediate apology to Rauf. Failure to do so could result in legal action being pursued against the responsible individual.
Naqvi further disclosed that the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) is actively pursuing the fans who were involved in the altercation with Rauf in the US. He warned that severe consequences await any fans who engage in misconduct towards the Pakistan Cricket Team in the future.
PCB chief Mohsin Naqvi stated: “FIA is behind the fan who misbehaved with Haris Rauf in US. Fans will face the consequences incase misbehaved with Pakistan Cricket Team.”
He additionally disclosed that the assessment of central contracts is ongoing and decisions will be made based on a revised criteria aimed at enhancing the team’s overall performance and fitness, following Pakistan’s disappointing showing in the T20 World Cup 2024.
