Naushad Khan, renowned as the father of Musheer Khan and the coach of India Test cricketer Sarfaraz Khan, recently recounted his experience dealing with a scammer who had been impersonating him to exploit aspiring young cricketers. His academy has been instrumental in nurturing numerous talents over the years.
Naushad Khan reveals how he tackled identity fraud targeting youngsters.
In an exclusive interview with Sports Tak, Naushad Khan shared the story of how he confronted a scammer who had been falsely using his name to deceive young cricketers. The scam involved promising aspiring cricketers opportunities as net bowlers in the IPL in exchange for money.
Naushad Khan made it clear during the conversation that he sternly warned the scammer to cease these illegal activities or face legal consequences.
“I called him by saying I am XYZ and when he offered me the same, I said I am Naushad, why are you doing these things? I mean why you are playing with the life of young kids and why you are defaming me? Then he got frightened and I told him that I would file a complaint against you,” said Naushad.
“After that, he responded that don’t complain about me. And so on and so forth. I will return everyone’s money and I will remove my name from Facebook too. He removed it,” he added.

Some months ago, Naushad Khan made a heartfelt appeal in a video addressing a disturbing scam. He exposed how a fraudster was exploiting young cricketers by falsely claiming association with him, promising opportunities as net bowlers in the IPL or various state teams in exchange for money. Naushad used the platform to urge aspiring cricketers to believe in their dedication and skills rather than falling prey to such deceptive schemes.
“Good morning, friends. Once again, I have come in front of you because my name (Naushad Khan) is being used by many people to create fake IDs on Facebook and Instagram. They are asking for money from kids, ensuring that they’ll become a net bowler in the IPL, get selected in the academy, or be on a state team. I urge you to not get involved in this and trust your hard work. I am not currently connected with any IPL team at this time. I am not going to coach right now. So, thank you very much for not getting involved in this,” Sarfaraz Khan’s father said in the video.
Meanwhile, Sarfaraz Khan is gearing up for the upcoming home Test series against Bangladesh scheduled for September. The promising right-handed batsman marked his Test debut during the home series against England earlier this year, showcasing his talent with 200 runs from five innings at an impressive average of 50 and a strike rate of 79.36.
