Young Rajasthan Royals (RR) batsman Riyan Parag’s persistence has finally borne fruit as he earned his maiden call-up to the India National Cricket Team. This milestone came just before the commencement of the first T20I against the Zimbabwe National Cricket Team on Saturday (6th July).
India is currently engaged in the first match of a five-game series at the Harare Sports Club in Harare, with Shubman Gill leading the squad. This series presents a significant opportunity for the young talents selected.
In the ongoing first T20I against Zimbabwe, India handed debuts to three players: Riyan Parag, Abhishek Sharma, and Dhruv Jurel. While it was undoubtedly a dream moment for all three, it held a particularly poignant significance for Rajasthan Royals’ all-rounder, Riyan Parag.
Parag received his debut cap from his father, Parag Das, a former first-class cricketer from Assam. The father-son duo shared an emotional embrace, brimming with jubilation as Riyan stepped into the limelight of India’s T20 squad.
