Now, the men in blue are gearing up for the highly anticipated clash of the tournament against Pakistan, scheduled for Sunday at Nassau County in New York.
In anticipation of the forthcoming match, renowned batsman Virat Kohli was seen roaming the streets of New York alongside his wife, the esteemed Bollywood actress Anushka Sharma. A viral video captured the couple as they leisurely walked through Garden City, New York, before boarding a black SUV.
India heads into the India-Pakistan clash fueled by their commanding win over Ireland, boasting an impressive net-run rate of +3.065. In contrast, Pakistan, led by Babar Azam, suffered a setback against USA, succumbing to defeat in a Super Over.
“Standing in big games is very exciting for me. I find it extra special and Pakistan has been one team where I have been very fortunate, I have been able to do well in a lot of games,” Pandya told Star Sports.
“In pivotal matches, I thrive. Facing Pakistan holds particular significance for me, given my track record against them,” Pandya shared with Star Sports.
Although Pandya’s batting against Pakistan has been moderate, tallying 84 runs with a highest of 40 in six T20Is, his bowling has shone. The versatile all-rounder has clinched 11 wickets with an impressive economy of 7.5, highlighting his value to the team.
“It all comes down to the vibe. Hold your breath, this is a request. This is not a fight, this is going to be history,” said Pandya.
