In the IPL 2024, Mitchell Starc expressed gratitude towards his spouse, Alyssa Healy, who doubles as the captain of the Australian women’s cricket team, for her unwavering support during challenging moments throughout the tournament.
Mitchell Starc attributed his resurgence in the Indian Premier League (IPL) to the support of his wife, Alyssa Healy. The Australian left-arm fast bowler, who garnered immense attention after being acquired for a staggering Rs 24.75 crores, faced considerable pressure. Initially, he endured a difficult start, conceding 100 runs without claiming a wicket in his first two matches, with an economy rate of 12.50. Throughout the tournament, he encountered challenges, but with Alyssa’s encouragement, he gradually regained his form, showcasing a remarkable turnaround in the latter part of the league stage.
During this while, Starc’s wife Alyssa Healy was also seen cheering for her husband during the matches. Healy, also the captain of the Australia women’s team, was first spotted in KKR’s match against Hardik Pandya’s MI at the Wankhede Stadium. Since then, Starc hasn’t looked back. Starc said that Healy’s presence boosted his confidence.
Everything’s been better since Alyssa has turned up,” Starc told Star Sports.
